Did someone say Lagoon?

We had one goal for this year's annual Lagoon trip, it was to have as much fun as possible; and boy, did we ever.
The kids were great everywhere except the hotel, where they were actually pretty horrible. Let's face it, hotel rooms are really no fun for kids. We brought along toys and games but it wasn't enough. Our biggest mistake was not bringing our laptop so that they could watch their shows on Netflix and Youtube. It was nice that the hotel had a lending library full of children's books, that helped for a while. Thankfully for us, they both love swimming so we got to spend a lot of time doing that
The Little Guy is swimming by himself for the first time!
Both of our kids in the pool by themselves... yeah, this is one of the great parenting moments
Katelyn loved climbing the stairs by herself, so it was a challenge every time we went up the stairs because she would get mad if we didn't let her do it
Look at how Katelyn is holding her "Baba"!
Breakfast at the hotel was it usual deliciousness
Making lunch for the day. There are so many older kids now that help with making lunch that all I get to do is....um..."supervise"... how lucky is that?
Ready for Lagoon!
While Mom and Dad are at Rattlesnake Rapids

There was no room in the above boat, Spencer and I were by ourselves
that meant that we got ridiculously wet in just two rides. We'll usually go on the ride 10+ times but we were wetter than we had ever been. The good news is that we were our swimsuits so, it was a simple matter of changing afterwards
Tio Ariel gave me tickets to Lagoon for Mother's Day, so Spencer and I spent the whole day taking the kids on rides not even worried about ourselves since we knew we were going to go back for a day of "us" fun.
Of course, everything Katelyn could go on... she did
Lunch time. Did you know that there is now a Swig inside the park! Since I have the best mother-in-law ever, she randomly showed at lunch with a missionary for me. Everyone was pretty jealous.
Watching the show. We had a feeling the kids would love it and they did, in a BIG way. Spencer walked out in the middle of it and when we found him after and asked him about it he made me laugh so hard by saying "It was just too loud and too bad" (I am seriously laughing out loud remembering it)
On our way out of the park for nap time we let the kids get soaking wet in the splash pad... and I do mean SOAKING wet.
We made it back to the campground just in time for dinner which, thanks to all the new development in Farmington, was Costco Pizza
We ended up staying in the park until about 9 when all of the kids rides closed (and everyone was exhausted)
If you follow have been following my blog for a while, you may have noticed that I tend to rant about things that annoy me every time they came up even if I have complained about it on the blog before... the fact that they regularly move "Music and the Spoken Word" from the Conference Center (where they have it during summer) to the Tabernacle before Labor Day is right on top of that rant-list. If you would rather not read the rant (again), please skip to the next paragraph... It is so ridiculous that they move it early. It is SO HOT in the Tabernacle. Seriously, I can't even describe how hot. I guess I should point out that it is actually a privilege to be hot inside the Tabernacle, that means you got in; because it is also so PACKED with people. For the last couple of times, everyone has had to go to the overflow. I just don't see how whoever is in charged of scheduling the show does not understand that he (or she, I don't know) needs to keep it in the Conference Center until AFTER Labor Day.

As the kids are not even allowed in at "Music and the Spoken Word" (you have to be at least eight since it's live and they want everyone to keep quite) and because all of the reasons mentioned above, we decided to just sleep in, have a late breakfast and hang out in the hotel. As it turns out, the Keeles decided to stay with us. (The above rant is shared by Julie as well)
After we checked out of our hotel (which has a late check out of noon by the way) we headed to Temple Square to meet up with the Hardings and McEntires for lunch at our favorite spot behind the Church History Museum.
We had planned to go inside the museum as our activity but as it turns out, with the new renovations, it is now closed on Sundays. Instead we walked around Temple Square for a while and got home around two. It was actually really nice to get home a little earlier. We were able to get everything unpacked and put away and played games after dinner.

I have made the resolution (now as I write this) that this upcoming year for Lagoon is going to be a little different. The Little Guy could have gone on so may rides and he didn't because he was just scared and didn't want to. I'm not going to put up with that this year. We will still go on all the kid rides, but if he is tall enough for a ride, he will go on it. I know that may sound kind of harsh but I don't want to set the precedent that we will spend money to go to amusement park and let him not go on any of the rides. I'm writing it on here so that when the time comes, I will not be able to go back on it.

That being said, we did have a super fun time and can't wait to go back this year!

Below is a accumulation of all of my Snaps throughout the weekend.
