Katelyn at Seven Months

Seven months. Closer to a year than being born. We are officially closer to a year. Isn't that insane?! and of course her seven month post is super late as she is just a couple of days away from eight months now, but finding time to blog is really hard with her around. This little princess is becoming more and more of a menace everyday. She sure is cute though. (By the way, even though the actual post is late these pictures were actually taken on the day she turned seven months)
You want some fun Katelyn tidbits?... okay

Refuses to eat solids. It sucks. She will move her head and close her mouth and if by some miracle we get some food inside, she gags on it and spits it out. It's actually quite comical to watch. Incredibly frustrating, but funny. We don't know what to do (and no we are not going to starve her until she eats) she was doing so well for the first couple of weeks and one day she decided she didn't want solids at all anymore. At least when Spencer and I try to feed her she only gags and spits it out. She adds "scream bloody murder" when any of the grandparents try

Still refuses to sleep through the night. Yeah, I'd rather not get into it

She needs to be a part of everything
Still completely fascinated with her big brother

She has perfected the army crawl and gets where she wants really fast. Which also means getting into trouble really fast. She is really good at getting to any cord or charger (whatever she's not supposed to get really) before we can even realize where she's going
Everything goes in her mouth. EVERYTHING! Seriously it's like a joke she'll put everything in her mouth but refuses to eat food

More on that, if she doesn't have something to put in her mouth, she settles for her hands. It's gotten on the point where I am having to constantly put chapstick right under her lower lip because it's so chapped from all the saliva

Still the happiest girl in the world

So blonde! Seriously, how did I get such a blond child? She really is a doll

We're so lucky to have here, she's our little princess

PS here are some bonus pictures Tio Adam took! I just love them, they capture her so well. This is literally how she looks all the time... smiling with her hands in her mouth

All the randoms from December

Of course I realize that it is now February, but I couldn't let December get left behind. I wrote separate posts on all of the big stuff but I would hate for all of the random little things in December to not get their fair time; so here are all of the random pictures in random order (I like to stick with the theme)

First up... this picture might be all smiles but she had actually blown out during Relief Society. It's a "more than meets the eye" picture as you can't even see the poop (and it was a lot of poop)
While I was trying to put lotion on her body
I came out of the shower one day (yeah, I shower, it's just rare) to find that Spencer had taught the Little Guy how to play Halo on the old XBox. Since Daddy got a new XBox 360 for Christmas they now play Call of Duty Black Ops II.
and yeah... sometimes I'll worry that playing Call of Duty might not be the best thing for our three year old but it's something that he does with his Daddy and we don't let him play for very long.

Here's a random picture of Grandma Julie with Katelyn
and in this same night we watched Ant Man
With Baby Kate moving around so much I've been a little OCD about having the carpet really clean (okay super OCD). I had my mom babysit the kids one day, grabbed a can of Resolve and a small wash cloth and got to work. It worked pretty good but took a long time. In the future I'll have to use something a little bigger than that washcloth I think.
There's my pretty girl
No tights at church because she blew out on them during Sunday School
This picture speaks for itself. His last day of nursery was on the 27th. And yeah, I cried
Before we send packages to Tio Nate in Mexico we deck them out in the Virgin Mary. We have been told that by doing this it is less likely to get stolen. So far it's worked pretty good
Grandma Julie came and picked up the kids one day I and used it as an excused to finally get the playroom in order and purged some toys. It was touch and go for a while when it looked like this and I almost lost my cool but it looks so good now it was totally worth it. I'll have to post a picture of the finished product sometime
Katelyn tried cereal for the first time on the 29th. She loved it
And last but not least.

If you know anything about us, you know that we are not really New Years kind of people. This year we played games with the Little Guy
and Kitty
After the Little Guy went to bed, I cleaned the kitchen until I happened to notice it was one minute to midnight. We're really not New Years people.

I have to say that 2015 was pretty good (definitely better than 2014). And sure I spent the first part of the year super sick and the second part super sleepless and stressed out but it was really good when I think about it (and totally worth it to have Katelyn in our lives). The Little Guy is such a joy to have around and Baby Kate is just a little princess. I have to say that we love our life!

Happy Birthday to our Little Guy

The Little Guy woke the morning of his third birthday and had to be convinced that it was his birthday. Honestly I don't think he believed it until we sang Happy Birthday later that night. We stared the day giving him his presents which he immediately had to get out and try. I don't know if I have ever mentioned this before but if you ask the Little Guy what he wants to be he only ever says one thing "a doctor" so obviously he was due for a doctor's kit (here's wishful thinking that he will continue to want to be a doctor). Daddy was a very willing patient
We decided to not do a party this year and instead planned to have all the family meet us at Pizza Pie Cafe in Orem which is the Little Guy's favorite restaurant. Unfortunately when we got there it was packed. And I mean PACKED! Grandma and Grandpa Swenson saved the day by letting us all go back to their house and we ordered some pizza

It was actually better because we were able to sit and talk and take it easy while the Little Guy played with all of his presents

I let the Little Guy picked out his own birthday cake (from the approved priced section) and of course he chose Spider Man candles to go with it
What a silly goober
Thank you so much to everyone that was able to make it and a special thanks to Grandma and Grandpa for making their house available
