Sometimes I get a Good Feeling

As we get ready for Christmas, Spencer and I are getting ready for world to change (yet again). How? you may ask. By the simple fact that we are moving into our own apartment! I would now like to take this opportunity to thank Grandma and Grandpa Swenson. We really can't express how grateful we are you allowed us to live in your house this past two months. You guys really helped us get on our feet. We love you!

We are moving (you guessed it) back to Spanish Fork. I guess we just really couldn't stay away from our families. The good news is, it is the best of both worlds.... We are close enough to that we can visit, have dinner with them and share happy times... but... it's far away enough that we can leave and go home :) We found the greatest apartment. It is behind Fresh Market, three bedrooms (yeah, we don't know what we are going to do with that much room). Pictures to come.

Meanwhile we are super exited for Christmas. The plan is to spend Christmas Eve with the Keeles and Christmas day with the Titas. I can't wait! Spencer and I got our gifts for the white elephant gift and for the gift exchange. (Although if you are reading this family members don't really expect anything. Let's face it... we're poor)

Merry Christmas!

The Most Wonderful Time on the Year

To say that I love Christmas is a very big, very misguided understatement. Christmas is by far my favorite time of year, made all the more special this year by the fact that every thing is new to Spencer and I for example:
This is our  first Christmas Tree
The Christmas tree was a struggle. We both had different opinions on how it should look. Surprisingly enough, the thing that gave us the most difficulty was the star, we could not figure out how to get that sucker on. We ended up having to stuff it on tip of the tree. Well as it turns out, we were actually missing the part that is able to put it on the tree, for whatever reason that part was missing from the box. To make matters worse we can't even return it anymore because we broke the packaging in order to get the star out. Conclusion: we are just making due with what we've got.

On better new... Spencer and I went went to Temple Square with Jessica and Carlson this past passed Friday. We had so much fun! Temple Square is one of my favorite places in the world (beaten only by Disneyland and the actual Temple).
Temple Square was absolutely PACKED! We literally had to wait in line to get up the the Jesus Statute. Of course I was going to make Spencer pose for a picture once we finally got up there.

When he gets the chance, however, he makes me pose for pictures too. It's only fair I guess

Spencer has discovered he loves taking picture. He was sad about  this one because he thought that the picture would have been perfect had this not been the only tree that wasn't lit.
On top of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building
Yes, even the nutcracker is taller than me
They literally could not have made this tree bigger, it touched the the chandelier.
The whole gang
Temple Square was actually not the best part of our weekend though... Spencer was selected to compete in a speech competition at Snow College and he made it to the final six so we got to go to Ephraim on Saturday morning were he gave his speech again in front of an audience and a panel of judges. He got 3rd place and I am super proud of him. His speech was awesome! (and I'm not just saying that because I'm married to him.... Judge for yourself) http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=2805572825263

Finally!!!!!!

So I'm finally getting back to blogging and I have a lot of ground to cover. I could come up with some lame story along the lines of "I have just been to busy" but the truth of the matter is that I had packed away the cord that connects my camera to the computer and I couldn't find it. I just didn't want to blog without putting pictures up. (I would like to apologize before hand on how long this is going to be)

So anyways.... I guess I'll start at the begging... As you might have heard, Spencer and I are married now!!!! I can't even describe the joy of that day. I can't thank everybody enough. Everything was absolutely perfect, (even the weather) a true fairy tale wedding (pictures to come I don't have them yet, I know, I'm desperate for them)
The only "Official" picture we have. My new family
So after our incredible reception. Spencer and I stayed at The Springhill Suites Marriott in Provo, it was a wedding present from my new in-laws (Thank you so much Mark and Julie). The next morning it was off to Las Vegas for the most unforgettable Honeymoon of all time.
The first picture before we stared driving
The drive took 6 hours, three stops to the bathroom, two bags of M&Ms and a bag of sunflower seeds (Spencer's favorite when he is driving). Thankfully, Vegas is an hour behind Utah so we actually got there a little before 5pm with plenty of time to do things.

We stayed at the Excalibur or first night, of course we had no better idea than to actually go park the car and get our suitcases out before going to check in. Needless to say, we were walking around for about half an hour before we found the front desk and, of course, we had parked incredibly far away from were our room was.

The next day, we checked out of the hotel and decided to go exploring... of course, Spencer had some time for his faces while I got ready.

Ready :)
We decided to start with M&M and Coca Cola World. It was awesome! Spencer had never been there and it had been a long time since it I had been there so we had a great time discovering new things. We even had time to watch the little 10 movie "I love my 'M' in Vegas", in which Red gambles away his 'M' and looses it.
This is the actually M&M sponsored race care for NASCAR. It's the #18 Toyota Camry

This is one of the few pictures we are in together. We really should have asked people more.

This was the only drinking fountain we saw out entire trip

After seeing everything M&M world had to offer (and not buying anything, let's face it, the prices were absolutely ridiculous) it was time to head over to Coca Cola World.
Probably my favorite picture (they would later put stuff on the green screen behind us but this picture was free). This bear was hilarious and very animated. In  the second picture (we didn't buy it) he was eating Spencer's head.  Even now as he saw me uploading this picture Spencer said "Oh my gosh I love that bear so much, I want to keep him"

My bear :)
So the new things they have going on The Strip is people dress up in very legit costumes and posse for tips
This is me and Bumblebee... Cool right?
It was still too early to check in at the Monte Carlo but we decided to give it a try anyways, lucky for us, our room was ready, and they upgraded us to a view of the strip.

(There are a lot more pictures of our room but I wont post them here. You can always go to the Facebook page)

A big highlight of our trip was, of course, The Lion King (we got free tickets for staying at the Monte Carlo).  To say that I recommend it for everyone is an understatement. It was absolutely incredible. We just had to buy the soundtrack.  Some of the sounds are so powerfully sung they literally make me cry when I hear them. Here's a clip of it.

I got to live my life long dream of riding in the New York New York Roller Coaster. It is something I have wanted to do for the past 12 years. It was actually really scary but way fun at the same time. I love getting Spencer on roller coasters because he always screams that he is going to die. We bought the official photos from it but I don't have a scanner. I'll have to find one before I can post those.

Needless to say, we were very sorry to go.

But we were mostly sorry about all the things we didn't get to see. We walked around for hours, the strip is just way too big. We didn't even make it passed City Center. So the plan is to go back sometime soon. Spencer really wants to go see Terry Fator and he currently has a show there. Now, we'll just have to be able to afford it.

Which brings me to our life now. Going on a Honeymoon is nothing like going on vacation. You see when you go on vacation, you come home and everything is the same, but with a honeymoon everything  changes.

Right now we are staying at Spencer's Grandparents house and we couldn't be for thankful. This has given us a chance to we able to get up on our own two feet while Spencer is finishing his last semester at Snow College. We are just getting used to living together but I have to admit we have both picked it up pretty easily, I guess we are just meant for each other (at least no fights yet). It is really sad for me when he leaves Monday morning and I don't see him again until Thursday night but it is something that I'm only going to have to deal with for the next two weeks (not even two full weeks since as soon as he is done with finals he can come home).

Good news.... we found an apartment! We are moving in the week between Christmas and New years. It is in Spanish Fork five minutes away from our families but away enough that we can still go to our own house when they get on our nerves. I am so exited for us to have a place of our own.

I'm sorry this was such a long post, I really promise be better, now that I have my cable there is really no excuse. Look for a post of our Christmas tree as soon as we finish decorating it :)

Catch up

So I know it has been forever and day since the last post so I figured I would catch everyone up.
First things first... we are to the point that everything is done :) My 'freak out' list the last post is all completed and now we just have to take care of a few last minute details (mani-pedis and such) and just sit back and actually enjoy the fact that we are about to get married. (My bridal pictures last Saturday being the final piece to the puzzle)

It all stared with two aw-mazing bridal showers (compliments of Laura, my mom and Julie). They were both so fun and full of people that I care about and care about me. I can't thank them enough.

I am getting my endowments this Friday and I can't wait. Although I have to admit that I freaked out beyond my wits. I really don't know what to make of it, I really don't know what to expect.

This Saturday is the rehearsal dinner. I was really looking forward to it until Julie asked me to ask my family to prepare a story to tell about me, or Spencer, or Spencer and I together. I don't know what story they are going to pull from their memories but I know that the chances of it being embarrassing are really high.... okay... they are EXTREMELY high.

On a happier (less scary) note...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SPENCER!!!!!!!!

It was Spencer's birthday last Tuesday (the 18th) and we had a ton of fun. He unfortunately had school that day so I went and surprised him there and went to class with him all day. We also watched "Signs" and I was freaked out the entire time (I have a problem dealing with scary movies). Of course the fun did not end there, on Friday we went to Tuccanos (thanks to their birthday club) and Saturday we hung out and played games with his grandparents. All in all a really good weekend. (sorry about the lack of pictures, my camera is out of battery and I am a ding-dong who keeps forgetting to charge it)

I can't believe how quickly the time has passed. It seems only yesterday that I went to Spencer's homecoming and now we are getting married in just a little over a week. It's insane (a good insane). Can't wait :)

Jitters

We are exactly one month and three days from the wedding and to say that I'm freaking out doesn't ever begin to cover it. I figured that maybe if I put all done in writing it might help me see things in a better light (a more relaxed light hopefully). I guess I should start with the....

LIST OF THINGS I STILL HAVE TO DO BEFORE THE WEDDING
  1. Send out the announcements and invitations (that is a biggie to say the least)
  2. Finalize the food
  3. Get Temple recomends
  4. Get marriage license (this one I can actually put off just a little bit longer since they only last for 30 days. I don't want to cut it too close)
  5. Find a dress to wear to the Temple and to leave the reception (I don't want to have to drag my wedding dress around on our honeymoon)
  6. Have my dress altered
  7. Have my bridals taken (the last two are both pretty huge)
  8. Make a date at the Temple to get my endowments
I have to be honest that this list did make me feel a little better... for about two seconds, that is, until I looked up on the post and saw that I only had one month left to do all that. Plus, I can't stop working and I have two bridal showers and a batcherlorette party to attend.

I think that I might have reached time-bomb stage. Good news is that Sperncer's best friend Carlson got tickets for the closing session of General Conference tomorrow. You never know, maybe they'll be a talk that specifically says how to deal with pre-wedding stress.

Pope Reunion

We had an amazing time at the Pope Family Reunion. It is the family of Spencer's grandma so it's a little extended. The feeling is more like a bunch of friends you didn't even know you had. I loved it :) The only downside is that I forgot to take pictures....

The reunion takes place in Hurricane so we stayed at Spencer's grandparents' house in St. George (they have a house down there because they literally go South for the winter).
On the way there... Spencer and his faces :)
My first time ever touching a horse. This horse really liked to be petted,
and I was happy to be of service
video
The made a giant slip-and-slip, I didn't go on it but Nate and Spencer did. Nate's splash was pretty big but it was nothing compared to Spencer's.

Spencer and Nate found the sweetest van in the history of sweet vans
The talent show was my favorite part. Julianna sang "Tell me that you Love me" it was so good.
On top of all the fun times Spencer and I saw the biggest spider I have ever seen out on the street in my life. We went on a walk and saw a gigantic spider just chilling out on the sidewalk. Big enough that it didn't care that we stood staring at it for a long time (it was too bad(you know) to move).

Thank you so much for inviting me to go with you Keeles. I can't wait until next year :)

Engagements

Spencer and I finally did our engagement pictures last week. I know that we are super behind on that considering the fact that it is one of the first things people do. My dad did them and they turned out awesome. I decided the best thing for me to do would be to just post my favorite three pictures on here and sent everyone to the Facebook page to see the rest. I posted my favorite 61 on my Facebook and Spencer posted his favorite 22 on his. Although it is no secret that I absolutely HATE his favorite photo. In my opinion it is one of the worst of the bunch. But hey, I can't change his opinion any more than he can change mine (well... maybe a little more) ;)

It's What Fun is

So what do you get when you take Lagoon and Church things and add good friends and family? The greatest weekend EVER! Every year (for I don't know how long and neither do they) the Keeles go with the McEntires to Lagoon over Labor Day weekend, and this year, they invited me to come along. The moms all get together and plan out everything so that every one has a great time and all the food is taken care of so that we don't ever have to buy anything.

I think the best way to tell this story will be chronologically....

First things first, the McEntires and the Hardings (who came along this year too) stayed in the campground at Lagoon, but we stayed in a hotel in Bountiful.
It was called the Country Inn & Suites and it was super nice
It had this beautiful staircase in the entrance
But most importantly, it had and awesome pool and hot tub, which we definitely enjoyed to the fullest
The next day we got up early and after breakfast (the hotel had a delicious continental breakfast provided) we met the McEntires and the Hardings at the campground. Then all the moms (and me and Krista) made sandwiches to take into the park for lunch (like I said, everything was perfectly planned). Before I knew it, it was already 10:00 and Spencer grabbed my hand and we were inside Lagoon.

We stared with Bombora the new ride in which they play fun, suffer music as you go on a roller coaster (a little lame but the music was fun. Then we went on wicked and proceeded to walk a cross the park for Spencer favorite ride... Rattle Snake Rapids. We went on that ride for times in a row and got completely soaked. See, Spencer theory was that if we got wet first, we would have all day to dry off.

The nice thing was that we were never cold. Just really really wet

We actually got really lucky and were able to go on all the rides with little to no line. So we spent the entire morning going on ride after ride until we were exhausted and needed a break around 1:30
It was delicious
After lunch we took a lot easier than our hectic morning and spend a long time touring the house in Pioneer Village. It was great. I had never seen any of those before. Spencer and I even took the time to read the description of all the houses and places so that we knew what we were seeing. My favorite was the old Davis County Jail.

And this was my favorite prisoner

The Carousel is definitely one of my favorites

Spencer was forced to come along
Before we knew it was it time for dinner. So we went out to the campground and had dinner with everyone. I guess we hadn't realized how tired we were until we stopped for dinner because we both need a break. So we laid down for a little bit in one of the tents and Spencer was out like a light in a matter of minutes.
When we got back into the Lagoon, I did one of the craziest things I have ever done in my life. I went on the Skycoaster along with Nathan and some of the younger kids in our group
All of us with our tickets waiting in line.
To say that we were freaking out doesn't even begin to cover it
Well it turns out that as scared as we were (and trust me, we were plenty scare) it was a very little price to pay to the incredible fun this was. I literally felt like I was flying. It was the coolest sensation.

The best $15 I've ever spent
Needless to say, all the rest of the rides felt tamed after the Skycoaster but Spencer and I still went on all of them one more time before the park closed. We even managed to make it to the show they had in that small theatre. At this point everyone was beyond tired so we went straight to bed.

The next day (Sunday) was my favorite (which is saying a lot considering the terrific day we had at Lagoon). We stared with another delicious breakfast and then met the McEntires and Hardings at the Conference Center to watch "Music and the Spoken Word". I was incredible. The Tabernacle Choir even sang my favorite hymn (High on the Mountain Top) and they sang it the best I've ever hear... twice.
Then the coolest thing happened. We went to the ward in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building for Sacrament Meeting and Elder Oaks was there. And we actually got to meet him!. It was so cool. Spencer actually served his mission with Elder Oaks' grandson so we talked with him for a while (I was going go to get a picture but I thought it would be rude. I really wish I had). He wished us good luck on our up coming marriage. Then we went on a tour or the underground tunnels connecting all of the building in Temple Square. The word "amazing" doesn't describe it. Everything is connected.

After a quick lunch at the parking lot of the Church History Museum, we went inside for a scavenger hunt. Spencer and I totally won (no matter what anyone says).
The Original Podium of the Conference Center
Then we went back to the campground. Did you know that there is a trail that goes around Lagoon? I do... now. Spencer and I borrowed bikes and set off on the trail. It was great. We rode until I got super tired and desperately needed a break.
Break Time: He makes a lot of funny faces in photos and he times them perfectly so that I can't see them until I look at the pictures later
After the bike ride (the way back was a lot shorter, turns out we really hadn't gone that far) we went back to the campground and played Phase 10 with Julie (Spencer's mom). It was a surprise to everyone (specially him) when Spencer actually won for the first time. After dinner, it was time to go home.

I had so much fun this weekend. Thank you so much Keeles for inviting me to come along. It couldn't have been more perfect :D

PS I only put some of the picuter here. To see all of them go on Facebook
